Why I'm Running
School trustees govern one of Canada’s largest school districts. I bring more than 20 years of board governance experience and three decades of senior leadership to that responsibility.
Our children are our future, yet delivering the quality education they deserve is becoming increasingly challenging. Student needs are becoming more complex, while schools are being asked to provide more support without the funding to keep pace.
As the parent of four Surrey graduates, I’ve seen firsthand how caring educators, strong schools, and supportive communities can shape a child’s future. I also know that today’s students face new challenges, from growing mental health needs and online pressures to overcrowded schools and increasing financial pressures on public education.
Throughout my career and volunteer service, I’ve learned that thoughtful leadership, collaboration, and responsible governance lead to better outcomes. I believe trustees have a responsibility to listen, ask good questions, make informed decisions, and advocate for the resources students and schools need to succeed.
I’m running because I believe we have a responsibility to lead the change we want to see. I want to help ensure every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in a safe, inclusive, and future-ready school system. Every decision should be guided by one simple principle:

Academic Excellence
Supporting high expectations in literacy, numeracy, STEM, arts, trades, and Indigenous education, recognizing that students succeed in many different ways.
Safe and Inclusive Schools
Promoting respectful, welcoming learning environments where every student feels safe, supported, and able to succeed.
Student Supports
Supporting the services students need to overcome barriers to learning, including mental health, unique learning needs, and other essential supports.
Planning for Growth
Advocating for the schools, classrooms and long-term planning necessary to meet the needs of our growing communities and rapidly changing technological world.
Strong Leadership and Governance
Making thoughtful, evidence-informed and fiscally responsible decisions that always put students first.
